Thank God for Fridays

Woke up this morning feeling a bit sluggish and sleepy. It's been awhile since the last time I went home late and had a quite few drinks - meaning, I wasn't drunk. Sometimes a girl just like to, you know... unwind, bond with friends, have a couple of beers (in my case, I had 1 bottle last night. I swear!), food trip, get some laugh. Just want to have clean fun and forget about stress at work. So I hope you would still love me after dishing the dirt hahaha!

Yesterday was just one of those ordinary, usual day. I skipped half-day from work since I attended a seminar about Information and Records Management. Trust me, you don't wanna hear about it. I was just sitting there, eyes on the speaker, on the presentation, paper and pen in my hand, but my mind is wandering elsewhere. I told you I hate meetings and now seminars. This must have to do with my ADHD issue. You remember? Okay here, let me jog your memory.

After the seminar I went straight to the office. It's my officemate's birthday and we've prepared a little surprise for him (it's my boss' idea). We didn't went to lunch with him (the celebrant) because that was the plan. When he came back we were in our party hats singing happy birthday, party poppers on, along with the delicious cake we bought for him. You know what? I've never seen a guy got teary-eyed for a birthday surprise. Really. It never occured to him that we will do something sweet like that and I was happy coz we're able to make his special day a memorable one.

So that's the reason why we were out last night. We're on a birthday treat at an eat-all-you-can seafood restaurant. The food was superb and I momentarily forget about dieting. I've been trying to curb my appetite for months now in my desperate attempt to shed off some pounds. But last night was an exception. Eat to your heart's content janjan!

After the eat-like-there's-no-tomorrow party, we went to a bar to chill and have some drink. The band was very entertaining that I almost thought I was in a comedy bar. They've got good music and they crack jokes which are really funny. When I say good music I meant they can sing Bohemian Rhapsody from start to finish. And their version was awesome!

We had a good time and a good laugh. And then someone from the audience went to the stage to sing. He was singing Faithfully by The Journey and oh boy, he's got a great voice! He really nailed the song and I was like "watch out Arnel Pineda". For those of you who doesn't know Arnel Pineda, he is a Filipino singer-songwriter who's currently the lead singer of The Journey (yeah! proud to be Pinoy!)

I regret not carrying a camera with me. I could have recorded and posted the video here. I was amazed by the talents around me which made me wished I could sing like that. Nah! Maybe in my next life hehehe...

I'd surely go back to that bar one of these days. Music Nuts (the name of the band) are hella nuts of fun!

Sounds like you had a good night out!

I'm like you in that I don't drink much but it is nice to have one or two during a night out. Everyone needs to kick back and relax now and then!

I love that the band you saw played Bohemian Rhapsody...that has to be one of the best songs ever! :-)

Have a fabulous weekend Jan!

Hey janjan - Glad you had fun! The great part about seafood is that it's actually pretty good for you as long as it isn't fried. I love seafood! I guess that comes with living in the "ocean state" though. Hope the rest of your weekend goes good as well.
