I've had enough!
So they think it's fine for their paying customer to call over and over and over to their goddamn hotline and wait for 3-5 minutes before an operator picks it and attends to your concern?
So they think it's perfectly fine that after calling for the fifth time, the answer I'm gonna get from them is to call back after 24 hours?
So they honestly believe that I'm enjoying every single minute of my precious time on the phone reciting about my concern for the nth time until they finally get the message across that all I want is to get my FREE FLIGHT ticket for crying out loud!!!
I sounded cheapskate, didn't I?
Before you mull on the impression that I'm indeed a cheapskate - HEAR ME OUT!
Last March 31, the flight back to my hometown was cancelled due to bad weather. If you happened to read my blog, My first taste of flight inconvenience you already know how messy that day was for me, and I refuse to recall the summary of events on that day simply because I just don't want to remember it. Period.
Okay. Let's cut to the chase. As a way of making up for the disrupted flight, the airline gave freebie to the annoyed passengers. In this case, the freebie is a FREE FLIGHT to any local destination, valid for 6 months. Yay!!! Isn't it such a great idea? I have an upcoming trip this June and I might as well make use of it.
So last week I called the number on the card eager to claim my free flight. The operator asked for the travel voucher number. Hell, what is that? That personnel in the airport only gave me a card which resembles a calling card with their hotline number on it and an instruction at the back on how to redeem the free flight. There was no writing of any number of sorts that would look like a travel voucher or whatever.
Then she said "Ah, they must have given you the old tavel voucher. I'll just check our record for the number." So we're settled then.
After two minutes......
Apparently, Cebu airport hasn't updated their system. Meaning - they haven't allocated a travel voucher yet for those flight cancelled on March 31st. Meaning - I won't be able to redeem that effing free flight yet, though the guidelines clearly said it is redeemable 24 hours after flight disruption. 24 hours had definitely passed. It's been almost 2 weeks my friend. What the heck!
I made another call after an hour (coz she said so) hoping their system has been updated. And probably by then she can see my name on the list telling her I am entitled to that damn freaking free flight. Well, looks like I'm into some wild goose chasing. Their system cannot put up with my simple demand coz until this very day, this very hour, they still ask me to call back tomorrow. Then the day after tomorrow and so on and so forth. C'mon! I mean we're not in 1960s?! We're suppose to have real-time data and information as commnication is getting better and sophisticated these days.
I really had enough!
Screw Cebu Pacific and your fuckin' free flight!!!!

yeah maybe cebu pasific hasn't updated technologic system =P that's awful.
as of this time, not yet. i'm calling again this afternoon and it's going to be the last (hahahah! i always say that but i keep on calling). i often thought to myself that i will no longer redeem it, but hey, it's for free. why not? :)
airlines are notorious for screwing people over. they are ... govt? after all ;) i'm sorry they didnt hand over what you were owed. i say kick them in the balls! xD
I hate dealing with anyone on the other end of a 1-800 # they never have their stuff together
Hey, girl. I'm having the exact same experience as you - I've been calling for 5 days and still the Caticlan ariport personnel (where I was issued that voucher) haven't updated their records... Pls. enlighten me. Did you ever get to redeem your free flight or should I just give up already? :(
Hey Guys! I'm from Sorsogon and I've paid a 1500 fee for a seminar which is to be held at Makati believing that I would be able to neglect the transpo expense since I have a free flight from CebuPac. I was already planning to contact CebePac. So does anyone ever been able to redeem and use the flight here? Thanks!
I also received a "free flight" coupon from cebu pac when I had a flight disruption last October... and now that's already April, I just remembered to really avail it before the validity period for the coupon ends... first I tried to call their hotline and an automated voice operator welcomed me with too many options that none of them seems to address about the free flight... like I wasted some regular minutes or load from my phone already... so I decided to visit their local service center here in Davao... when I got there, their staff doesn't seem to be sure on what to do, they just gave me an instruction to book it online from the cebupacific air webpage and damn, what is this confirmation number they were asking from their options?? goodness. I never thought they are making it this difficult for their clients. I tried many attempts to ask online or look from their FAQs but none them addresses my concern for the free flights. Like I am losing hope that I'd be able to avail of this... I wonder if this offer has been really made possible... after reading this same concern from this blog... :(((
OMG same with me I am freakin pissed off on my 8th call still no response from the airport!!! free flight means free heart attack!!!
i am so dissapointed Cebu Pacific
I am so disappointed Cebu Pacific
Kakaredeem ko lang ng free flight voucher here's how:
1) Go to Manage booking then on the drop-own list select change flight
2) Enter your booking reference number (the one that got cancelled) and full name
3) Redeem Voucher window will appear and tick the box beside the voucher number then click continue
4) Proceed with your booking as you would usually do (reminder: this is one way trip only)
5) Be sure to remove the seat and insurance charges as this would add to your total amount... click continue and then continue at the bottom, total price will be P0.01 and will be paid automatically.
6) Voila! you can print your itinerary receipt.
Hope this helps guys! Wag na init ulo.. Smile!
Thank you for your instructions, Krizelle. I was feeling the same frustration that I was written about earlier. I'm glad I read until the end and found what you wrote. Just one thing I need to add, the person must be logged out of any Cebu Pac or Getgo account to be able to retrieve the itinerary of a cancelled flight. Once logged in, the website will tell you that you have no future flights.
