All I want for Christmas... I know it sounds like a cliche but I still want it!

I was suppose to dish out my christmas wishlist here on my blog but I don't wanna sound "worldly" and all so I'll try to keep it to myself. But if you must insist, I'll be forced to write another post for that, with the condition that you will grant one of it. Deal? No, I'm just kidding.

I don't make christmas wishlist at all. When there's something I want, I'd buy it (given that I can afford it. but if not, maybe I can save up for that or wait 'til someone gives it to me which do happen "sometimes". Thank God for Santa Claus). And speaking of Santa Claus, do you know that I really believed in Santa when I was a child? I mean, really! As in I really thought he was real. That he goes out on christmas eve giving gifts. I used to hang a stocking by the window and excitedly wake up in the morning to see if the stocking were filled with gifts from Santa. I know most children believed in this story, but it was more than just a story to me. I believed it with all my heart.

It was not until I was 10 years old when I realized that my parents were Santa Claus. And I was like "yeah right!". My playmates were right all along : Santa does not exist in reality. And I fought for my belief. I fought whenever 'Santa = Parents' argument is raised.

So maybe that's the reason why I don't make christmas wishlist anymore. Reality has taught me something.

But this time, I wanna be a kid again. I wanna re-live those times when I would fervently utter my prayers hoping Santa would hear them and would give me those gifts. Those times when I forced not to close my eyes coz I want a sneak peak of Santa in flesh! Those times when you don't have to work harder just to get the things you wanted.

Here are the things I want for christmas :

First, I've been itching for this small wonder since the start of the year.

                                            x-mini capsule speaker

And I should have the pink one.

Secondly, what better way to pump up an x-mini? i-pod touch. Yes. I want that i-pod touch. No, don't tell me I should get an i-pad coz it's cooler. I don't think carrying a seemingly huge calculator-like is technically aesthetic. I'm just saying.

Next, I want an endless supply of Vitamin C. If colds are hunters, I'm their easy target. I get colds often like a woman does with menstruation. It has been the constant reason of my absences coz when I have colds I'll have fever and cough too. And the problem with me is that I don't take vitamins. That is why I'm making this as my advance new year's resolution : to be cold-free, or if I can't help it, at least it's not going to be every month.

Next, I wish I can get more promo airline tickets for my travel syndrome.

I also wish airfares will go down a bit so that I can still afford even if there are no promos available. See Santa? I'm begging here. Or you could lend me Rudolph.

And last but definitely not the least.... tan tada dan......

I wish my bloggy friends will not get tired of giving me blog awards like this one from Gnetch.

Thank you so much Gnetch!!!!!

thought it was gonna be romantic... i should have stayed home instead

The badass asian, Gnetch, invited all her followers to participate in this meme :

I decided to join the fun. So here I am.

The rules are simple. By the end of this post, I'm gonna ask you guys if you wish to participate. Should you will, I'm gonna send you a question and make a post about your answer. I'm going to recommend a blog, which you haven't followed yet, for you to read. Then invite your readers too.

That simple!

Now, on to the game...

Gnetch recommended Sweta's blog, The Disappearing Caravan, which I absolutely liked.

And the million dollar question ... ???

"What's the worst date you've ever been?"

Ahem!

I've been trying to remember for days of the worst date I've ever been. I don't go on dates quite often so I was having a hard time contemplating if this story is worth sharing, OR ... if it would pass the category.

Let me tell you the story anyway.

It was Valentines day in the year 2006. My then boyfriend and I went on our very first valentines date. We were both excited that we forgot to book on a restaurant. You know how it is on Valentines Day. Couples and even non-couples swarm restaurants, theaters, parks, and malls. It's chaotic all over. But we still decided to dine at my favorite seafood restaurant, in the hope that there are still seats available.

We arrived at almost 7PM. As expected, the place was crowded with diners. NO SEATS AVAILABLE - that we were told. But we can wait. So we added ourselves on the lengthy waitlist.

Thus the long wait officially begun.

I thought it was just going to be 30-minutes or so. I stood, sat on the chair, paced back and forth, watched the diners silently as they slowly chewed their food, played with my phone for as long as my growling stomach could take. I was hungry and tired from work. The waiting area wasn't comfortable enough to distract me. HUNGRY and at the same time PISSED over the situation. The crew were starting to bring in tables and chairs placing them on any decent floor space they could make out. We could have settled in earlier but I refused when I saw that we'll be sitting near the alley and adjacent to the restrooms. Who wants to eat near the restrooms? Would you? I wasn't thinking about the "romantic" word anymore, I just want a "conducive" space and that means far, far away from the restroom.

We waited some more. We considered looking for another restaurant but the rain was starting to downpour outside. The walk to the parking lot and hopping from one restaurant to another would not compensate the fact that we have already wasted our time long enough just waiting for others to finish off.

Finally, for what seemed like eternity, dinner was served at almost 9PM. The food looked delish yet my appetite had long gone since we waited patiently on the line for 2 hours.

And I thought getting myself starve on a date is already worse! That's what I thought... Wait 'til you hear this :

Now it's pay time.

My boyfriend, errrr.... EX, left his wallet on the car. What the...???! So I ended up paying the bills. Ha! Shame on you!!!

End of story.

So guys, just tell me if you like to participate and I'll email you a question.

And.... just in case you're wondering what happened next, we broke up 2 months after.

The 7 Things Part II

I wanted to make another post just before September tears its page off  the calendar. As I was contemplating on what to write, I remembered Rachel over at The Diary of a Dreamer tagged me for the LOVELY BLOG AWARD. Thanks Rachel! This is actually my second time. Unlike the first one when you just have to mumble your THANK YOUs, this one comes with 7 Facts about you. In this case, ME! I hope I'm not making my way to becoming a self-absorbed creature.

Am I? Oh no...

S**t!

Anyway, I did rounds on my previous posts just to see what are those things I haven't shared with you yet. I realized I'm almost there to expose my deepest, darkest secrets. Kidding! So here are some of the things which I think are pretty interesting facts about me, which you might want to know (I hope so).

**** The 7 Facts *****

#1. When I was in second grade, I got hit by a vehicle.

Call it stupidity or lack of common sense but I crossed the street when a vehicle was approaching. Sure my parents taught me to look at both sides first before crossing. And I don't know what caused my judgment to twitch, that I decided to cross when THERE'S a vehicle. Luckily, the driver noticed me at once but he's short on brakes so I landed at the hospital with bruises.

#2. I listen to Taylor Swift.

Eyebrows down please... Alright. Not everybody loves Taylor and I don't adore her either. But I like some of her songs.

#3.  I'm afraid of snakes, worms and anything that crawls.

They're just ewwww!

#4. There are two things I'm addicted to right now : Facebook & Vampire Diaries.

Facebook is like part of my system, and if vampires are for real, I would like to become one! Ssshhh.....

#5. I wanted to become a lawyer when I was a child.

But I realized that reading law books are BORING. I'd rather debate with my friends over who's hotter - Damon or Stefan, than defending my guilty or not client.

#6. I've always been mistaken to have a foreign blood because of my surname.

Yeah. And they change their minds when they start to size me up. I think that's just R-U-D-E.

#7. I'm a weakling.

Wait. I'm too harsh on my self... I have a poor sense of balance. Okay, that sounds better. I almost had my right arm broken when I slipped at a friend's house. Another incident had my right arm (again) bruised when I slipped at the workplace. I have countless humiliating experiences in tripping and slipping (note that those two words rhyme).

That's it!

These Make Me Feel Special

I wanna start off this month with a post that has "substance". Errrrrr.... it's quite a challenge and I'm not even sure if you'd ever consider my blog to have substance, yet Mitch and Rachel thought my blog is worth their time reading and gave me this award.

Yeheyyy!!! Thanks a lot Mitch and Rachel. You guys are sweet...!

For me to take this award completely, I have to share my blog philosophy. I think I've already mentioned this in one of my previous post. But anyway, hear me out once more.

I created between me and my thoughts because I'm looking for a place where I can channel all my emotions, ideas, opinions, rants, dreams, frustrations and all those crazy random thoughts. I guess that's what personal blogs are all about. It centers the author while taking randomness and spontaneity as your leverage.

I'm the kind of person who find solace in writing. I'm not good at confronting people when I'm mad. But in writing I can pour out my feelings and lets out anger easily. I'm not good at public speaking. But I can easily convey my thoughts when I hold a pen. Well in this case, keyboard. I hold secrets that I don't feel like disclosing to my friends. But in my blog? I'm very transparent. And sometimes emotional.

So forgive me dear bloggy friends if you don't get at first what this blog is all about hehehe.. Thanks for sticking and taking time to read my musing. It means a lot to me.

Alright so much for the drama. Time to pass on the award...

Nikita

I'm No Miss

Oh well this looks like my lucky day coz Rachel gave a bonus award to all of her followers.

Ratz

Nope, I'm Not Narcissistic. So Excuse Me If I'll Talk About Myself Now

Yay! I got tagged by Deeps! at words as a form of life in this (I don't know what's this meme called) "3" meme. Thanks so much girl!

It's simple. I'd just have to answer three questions about me. (sorry guys, it's gonna be ME again!) Looks like I've been dishing a lot of stuff about me huh!

But anyway, here it goes :

3 Famous Names of Mine
jan, janjan, janice (janice is my real name while jan & janjan are my real nicknames)

3 Things that Scare Me
snakes, heights, death

3 Things which make me Smile
When I read your comments. Seriously!

When I see my crush or when he sends SMS. Waaaaaah! I'm crushing on someone right now, ssshhhhhh.... Hahahahahaha! Can someone bang my head on the wall? Okay, just kidding.

When I think about the good times, funny moments with friends and my craziness.

3 Things that I Love
I love traveling and discovering new places.
I love chocolates and tweety bird.
Being single. Coz it's liberating and no one dictates you what to do.

3 Things that I Hate
This is a confession : As much as I love being single, I kinda hate it SOMETIMES too. Yeah it's nicer to be free, no worries, not a single care in the world. But at the end of the day, it feels a lot better to come home to someone.

When I'm not in control of the situation.

When I'm being lied upon, fooled and betrayed.

3 Things I don’t understand
Why some people hurt you like you totally deserve it?
Why can't we live in peace and harmony?
Why there's so much filth in politics and government?

3 Things I’m doing right now
blogging
coding software
thinking about the weekend getaway, yey!

3 Things I can’t do
swim, drive, pretend I'm fine when I'm not

3 Things I think you should listen to
your mom. Experience taught me that mother knows best.

your intuition. It tells you things which are unexpectedly true.

your favorite song. It will make you feel better.

3 Shows I watched as a Kid
X-men. I'm a wolverine and storm fan.

That's the only thing I can remember. I'm not into TV shows when I was a kid.

3 Things I want in a Relationship
respect, trust, love

3 Things of the Opposite Sex that appeal to me
wit, character, humor

3 Favorite Fictitious Characters
Damon Salvatore, Stefan Salvatore, Edward Cullen

I'm a sucker for bloodsuckers hahaha!

3 of my Favorite Hobbies
dancing, writing, reading books

3 Beverages I drink regularly
iced tea, coffee, water

3 Things I like about myself
independent, strong-willed but with a soft heart, a loyal friend

3 Things I hate about myself
I hate it when I don't walk away even if I knew that I should have RUN in the first place (because I'm stupid!!!)

I hate it that I don't easily forget when other people have caused me pain. I have tendecies to hold grudges for too long which I know is not good.

Sometimes I trust other people more than I trust my own self.

3 Things I’m wearing right now
my towering wedge
my favorite lipstick
office uniform

2 Truths and a Lie:

My first post for the month... Waaah! Time flies so fast. We're halfway through the year, which means, christmas is drawing near.

I don't sound excited do I?

Anyhoo, two of my bloggy friends were into this "IF I WERE" meme and tagged all of their followers. Thanks Mitch and Meg for sharing it with us.

I find it cute. I was tempted to do the same. So here I am giving in to temptation haha!

Here goes my version guys :

If I were a month, I'd be August (obviously. it's my birth month)
If I were a day of the week, I'd be Wednesday
If I were a time of day, I'd be sunrise
If I were a planet, I'd be Venus.
If I were an animal, I'd be a bird
If I were a direction, I'd be straight ahead
If I were a piece of furniture, I'd be DEDON's Orbit

If I were a liquid, I'd be Vodka Cruiser (drink it and you'll know why)
If I were a gemstone, I'd be diamond
If I were a tree, I'd be a maple
If I were a tool, I'd be a cellphone
If I were a flower, I'd be tulips
If I were a kind of weather, I'd be a cool sunny day
If I were a musical instrument, I'd be a violin
If I were a color, I'd be shades of pink
If I were an emotion, I'd be happiness

Some things you should know about...ME!

Hello everyone! I'm feisty today. I have to coz it's Monday (I'm trying to avoid monday blues) and I have couple of reasons to start the week happy. First, Gnetch at Thank Goodness for the Good Ones tagged all her followers on a photo meme where we have to post the 8th photo from the 8th folder in My Pictures.

I thought it's gonna be fun so I tried and here's what I got :

I was reluctant to show this to you because : a.) I'm kinda shy to show my face to everyone. If you noticed my profile pic, I did not face the camera. So quit staring now! (ok, I'm not mad)

b.) I was afraid that you might laugh at the idea that at some point in my life I did cheerdancing. Yes that was me in  my cheerdance costume!!! Don't worry, I didn't suffer from concussions or any serious injury coz I refused to be thrown into the air for the whole stint.

But in all fairness I look thinner in that pic. It's  one of my most treasured photos before my waistline began to expand some three years ago.

Now I want you, yes YOU! the one reading this to try this out and tell us the story behind your pic.

Secondly, Gnetch gave another award (this gal is really generous. she likes to pamper her friends). I told her I'm hesitant to take it but I knew better than to refuse her kindness. She might take back Nick Carter from me hahaha! (just some high-school talk). Gnetch, that was a long, long time ago and I'm over him already. But all those silly things I did in the name of Nick Carter will forever remain in me and I can't help but smile whenever I think of all those. :)

Anyway, here's the second award and along with it are 7 nagging facts about ME!

1.) Got a huge crush on Nick Carter and Dave Moffatt in high-school. Seriously, where are they now?

2.) I love tweety bird and I'm collecting tweety bird stuff.

3.) I love to travel and visit new places. I'm mostly drawn to secluded island or places where nature is at it's best.

4.) I can't swim and I'm terrified of big waves. It's so ironic coz I love to go island hopping and a beach person as well, yet can't do any basic kinds of swimming.

5.) I'm a dog lover and I avoid movies where dogs die in the end coz I'd surely end up bawling.

6.) I read - a lot. I started reading romance novel when I was in gradeschool. My mother was furious coz she thinks I'm too young for that, so she burned them all and I ended up paying those books since I borrowed them from a friend. :(

7.) I have zero interest in drawing and I can't draw, can't even make a straight line straight without the aid of a ruler considering that I'm an eng'g grad. In my drawing class, I will ask a classmate to draw for me in exchange for an assignment. Clever way to pass the subject *wink*.

Alright I'll stop now. But before that, I'm sharing this award to ALL MY FRIENDS especially to my new followers (you know who you are). I'd like to know more about you guys so please take it.

For those who always have something to S-A-Y.

Someone thinks I'm a commenter and gave me this award. Wo000ooHoooo000ooo!!!

Just like any other blog awards, here are the set of rules to follow :

1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2. Copy the award; place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4. Answer the 10 questions associated with the award.
5. Nominate a few of your favorite bloggers for the award.
6. Post links to the blogs you nominate

Here we go.

Thank you Jennifer for this award. I recently followed her blog at more than a MOMMY.

And for the 10 questions :

1. Why do you blog?

For the love of writing. Writing has been my friend. It's my fortress when I want to vent, rant, dream, cry, laugh. When I write is when I wanna be myself.

And because blogging is pretty much handy than keeping a journal (I used to have one while growing up), and writing on it every night would become a tedious task.

2. What are your three best memories?

The bestest memory I had are all those times spent with my father. I lost him at such a young age. And I'm a Daddy's girl. I treasured all those memories coz it's where I can only feel him alive.

The second best would be my childhood. When you're still carefree and innocent and you know nothing but play all day, goof around and just be a child that you are. No obligations. No responsibilities.

The third would be my college days when I'm full of dreams and ready to conquer the world (I'm just exaggerating). I had so much fun in college than in high school.

3. If you had to change your real name, what would you change it to?

Sidney Sheldon. My all-time favorite author. I just love the sound of his name.

4. What are the five things you can't live without?

Computer... cellphone... Television... Okay when you say things I meant things.

My family and friends (and my dog). Without them life would surely become a mess.

5. What are the four best books you've ever read?

The Five People You Meet In Heaven - Mitch Albom
The Last Song - Nicholas Sparks
If Tomorrow Comes - Sidney Sheldon
The Third Twin - Ken Follett

6. Tell me something unique and interesting about yourself.

I'm a fan of rock bands and I dream of marrying a rock star someday. haha!

7. What do you love about yourself?

I don't panick easily. I'm good at keeping my cool and composed even when I'm under fire.

8. What is the best movie ever made?

Urrghh!  Please don't make me choose... Alright. Maybe, Shrek? Yes! Shrek. Because I've seen it a dozen times (from part 1-3) yet I still laugh like I would on the first time.

9. If you had a "freaky friday" experience, who would you trade places with and why?

Steve Jobs.

Now ask me why.

Well, who doesn't want to be in his shoes, anyway???

Answer : Bill Gates.

10. What's the best part about being a woman?

You can make PMS as an excuse for being grumpy and unreasonable.

You'll be offered a seat on the bus/train even if it's already full, provided that you wear tight-fitting jeans/skirt and a cute, hot top.

There's always someone willing to carry your luggage or anything you hand-carried as long as.... see italic fonts above

You will not be forced to do ardous tasks such as lifting heavy objects and the likes. After all, men are designed for that. Oppss!

Oh my god! I can make an entire post by just answering this question.

Now it's time to pass the Super Comments Award to the following bubbly bloggers who always have something to say :

Mishieru - Upside Down

Gnetch - Thank Goodness for the Good Ones

Ratz - What Can I Say

I'm no miss - and i'm no miss

The Girl Who Loves to Whine - I Know You Wish Your Life Was More Like Mine

Hope you enjoy it ladies!

See? I told you guys I'm friendly nyahhhahaah! Move over Sandra Bullock. Here comes Miss Congeniality. Ehem!

First off, I would like to thank Mishieru of Upside Down for giving me this award. Actually she felt guilty coz when she posted it on her blogsite she forgot to include my name hahhaha! Mitch, you don't have to feel bad about it. I totally understand that when you're sleepy you tend to be forgetful...and it's a sign of aging haha! Peace girl..... Seriously, this gal is one awesome blogger. In case you haven't gone to her blog, go check it out.

Another thank you goes to Ratz of What Can I Say. I say I can't keep myself from laughing everytime I read her posts. Actually, she did not specifically mentioned the recipients of this award. But she said that she's giving it to everyone reading her blog. Well, I happen to read it and Ratz, I took your word for it.

I got tagged!!!

I thought today's going to be another awful Monday. But hey, I was wrong. I was oblivious to the surprise that awaits me. I got T-A-G-G-E-D!!!!!!!!! By no other than Gnetch , a fellow 20sb member and whom I consider one of my haven't-met-personally friends in the blogosphere.

Thank you Gnetch!!! Mwaahh! I've said this already and I'm saying it again - You're the first one to give me this!!!! (I hope there'll be more to come, yikes!!!) hahahaha!!

I'm soooooooo happy to have received this HAPPY 101 award! It means a lot to me. Being new to this whole blogging thing, I can't help but feel overwhelmed to the responses, appreciation, welcome by the 20sb gang. I don't know them personally but they all had compassionate and kind words for me and it makes blogging a lot more enjoyable.

Since my brain cells are now in full-function mode. I re-read Gnetch's post and finally understood (after 48 years hahaha!) If someone receives this award you have to thank that person, which I already did and I don't intend to sound like a broken record. In this case, you have to list the things that make you happy and pass on the award by tagging your friends.

Here we go :

Things that make me happy

1.) Whenever I get the chance to go home (in my hometown) and spend time with my mother and my dog. I work faraway from home and I kinda miss them most of the time.

2.) Travel. Travel. Travel.

3.) When I'm not working (Saturday, Sunday & Holidays)

4.) When I'm eating chocolates and pizza (I guess the right word would be "delighted" but anyway chocolates do make you happy)

5.) Payday

6.) When I have a new gadget

7.) Shopping for clothes and shoes (ewwww..I didn't know I'm materialistic! tsk, tsk...)

8.) When the program I'm working on runs.  Or else I'm running my way out hahaha!

9.) When someone says nice things to me or they appreciate my actions

10.) When someone leaves a comment on my posts or on my FB account. You're feedback means a lot to me. It's another way of showing you care huhuhuhu....

11.) When someone becomes a follower

12.) When someone reads my blog (even if they don't leave comments)

13.) When someone gives me a gift especially if it's a tweety bird stuff.

14.) When I'm hanging out with friends

15.) When I read a good book

16.) When I hear my favorite song

17.) When the weighing scale says I'm losing weight, yay!!!!!

18.) When it's time to go home after a hard day's work!

19.) Concerts

20.) Party

Haaayyyyy...I could go on forever. There's just too many things that make me happy and so many things to be thankful about.
